After months of ‘unhappy’ highway users with a handful of grouped cyclists, finally the ʟᴀʀᴀɴɢᴀɴ ꜱᴇʙᴀʀᴀɴɢ ᴀᴋᴛɪᴠɪᴛɪ ʙᴇʀʙᴀꜱɪᴋᴀʟ ᴘᴅʀᴍ ᴅᴀɴ ʟᴇʙᴜʜʀᴀʏᴀ ᴍᴀʟᴀʏꜱɪᴀ (ʟʟᴍ).

“JSPT has so far only taken advocacy action against cyclists who cycle in groups on the road.

“P0lis does not restrict cycling activities but must comply with the safety aspects set.

Mat Kasim said, based on the record of 150 ᴋᴇᴍᴀʟᴀɴɢᴀɴ involving cyclists, from January to September this year.

Of that number, according to him, as many as 71, ᴍᴀɴᴀᴋᴀʟᴀ 24 ᴅᴀɴ 55 light.

Thus, he advised cyclists to always be obedient to their-ᴜɴᴅᴀɴɢ ᴅᴇᴍɪ ᴋᴇꜱᴇʟᴀᴍᴀᴛᴀɴ and other road users.

He also advised riders to choose a suitable location and time outside peak hours and avoid congestion with vehicles that can disrupt the smooth flow of traffic and invite the risk of accidents.

Meanwhile, motorists are reminded to be considerate and careful as cyclists are particularly vulnerable to danger while on the road.
